FUMC ARMY 2012

It has been decided by the youth council that we will not be attending UMARMY in 2012 because of financial reasons.  Here are a few details...

We plan to have two overnight events, one Monday to Tuesday, and another Thursday to Friday.  We will work with some local organizations (like habitat for humanity) and do some special projects with members and friends of the congregation of First United Methodist Church of Toms River.  On Wednesday we plan to head to Pennsylvania for some team-building exercises, including a zipline! Join us for the Monday/Tuesday block, Wednesday, Thursday/Friday or for the whole week!

If you'd like to be a part of this, please let a youth leader know.

Below is general information concerning UMARMY. Hopefully we will be able to return for a 2013 trip.

We will need help collecting tools for our camp and with training our young people to use tools.  If you can help, volunteer, or donate let us know! We could use help all year round leading up to our commissioning service the Sunday we leave for UMARMY.

Any adults participating in UMARMY must take an online training course.  The address for this online training is:  http://www.umarmy.org/conference/northeast/training.php . You will need your "travel guide" with you as it is referenced in the videos.  The Associate Pastor has all the travel guides, so ask him for your copy, take the test and bring the completed quiz to your leader to be turned in at camp.  The UMARMY website explains all about the camp so read through it.

Here is a picture of our last mission trip in Williamsport, PA. Join us next year as we work in people's homes to help the needy and proclaim the year of the Lord's favor!
